Compare the same packed parcel, contents and destination using current route quotes. Check scale and dimensional weight, billing increments, included services and the support terms for the selected route.

Treat ordering and international shipping as separate stages
Start with the exact product and its source listing. After the buying service receives it, review the available order photos, confirm the contents and ask for the packed parcel’s weight and dimensions.
A product-card estimate does not include an international shipping reservation. Availability, restrictions and prices must be checked in the service arranging the shipment.
Compare actual weight with dimensional weight
Actual weight is what the packed parcel weighs. Some routes also calculate dimensional weight from its length, width and height. The divisor, billing unit and rounding rules depend on the service.

When comparing two routes, use the same destination, goods, packed measurements and included services. Record the first-weight charge, extra-weight increment, any minimum charge and what is excluded.
- Check that the route accepts every type of item in the parcel.
- Ask whether packing, insurance or additional services are charged separately.
- Check the quote’s delivery estimate and where that estimate starts.
- Confirm who handles support and which carrier completes delivery.
Compare packing choices before removing protection
Removing a shoe box can reduce parcel volume, but it can also remove protection or packaging you want to keep. Ask the service for the resulting measurements and packing options before deciding.
Consolidating items changes both weight and dimensions. Compare the actual quotes for a combined parcel and separate parcels rather than assuming either option is always cheaper.
Keep the order, parcel and carrier references
An order number and an international tracking number serve different purposes. Save both, along with the route name and dispatch date. Use the carrier named in your actual shipment record for tracking.
